In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Plaquemines Parish Council presented a proclamation in 2019 to proclaim the month of October as “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” in Plaquemines Parish.

Since the national program began in 1985, mammography rates have more than doubled for women 50 and older and breast cancer deaths have declined. Please help us “paint the parish pink” and show your support by wearing pink on Friday, October 29, 2021.
“Paint the parish pink” day is a simple, yet powerful way to help raise breast cancer awareness, support the fighters, admire the survivors, and honor the taken.
