Tropical Storm Cristobal

Tropical Storm Cristobal made landfall in Mexico Wednesday morning, with life-threatening, flooding rain, and then track toward the U.S. Gulf Coast later this weekend bringing a threat of flooding rain, high surf, coastal flooding, and winds. 

Voluntary Evacuation:

Reminder: The Voluntary Evacuation remains in effect for low-lying areas outside of levee protection. 

 Voluntary evacuation is still in effect for the following communities on the westbank: Myrtle Grove, Woodpark, Lake Hermitage, Happy Jack, Grand Bayou, and Tidewater Road. This is due to the above normal tides and strong southerly winds from Tropical Storm Cristobal. 

 Parish Crews are actively monitoring and preparing for any possible flooding. HWY 23 remains open at this time.

Ferry Update:

Pointe-a-la-Hache Ferry will run its weekend schedule Saturday, June 6th, and Sunday, June 7th. The ferry will start at 6 AM on the Eastbank, and the last trip will be at 7:45 PM from the Westbank.

Belle Chasse/ Scarsdale Ferry will continue to run its current schedule.
