Buildings

The Buildings Department employs the custodial staff for all parish buildings, as well as a small grounds crew, rents out parish buildings, etc. 

Engineering & Public Works

Engineering & Public Works Department oversees all aspects of capital improvement in Plaquemines Parish. From the smallest to the largest projects, our involvement varies from project management to project design; from damage assessments to construction inspections. 

Fire Departments/Emergency Medical Services

The Plaquemines Parish Fire Department is a combination department that has a mixture between career on-duty personnel and volunteers that dedicate their time to the departments whenever possible.

Health

The Plaquemines Parish Health Department is comprised of Sanitarian Services, Public Health Nursing Services, and Code Enforcement.

Permits

The Permits Department oversees, manage, and document the procedures for all permit applications that involves building, mobile home, trailer, RV,  air conditioning, heating, oil, gas permit applications, etc. 

Planning & Zoning

Zoning laws are the laws that regulate the use of land and structures built upon it. These laws protect the health, safety, and general welfare of the people as it relates to development and land use. 

Maintenance Department

The Maintenance Department staffs a variety of craftsman A/C Mechanics, Electricians, Carpenters, to handle the general maintenance of parish owned facilities, etc.

Water Department

The Water Department sets up water service for residential and commercial accounts, handles the billing and the collection of the fees for this service, etc.
