About

Vaccines are available for a long list of dangerous and deadly diseases. Over the years, vaccines have prevented countless cases of disease and saved millions of lives. We will keep you updated with the latest trends as they become available.

With Plaquemines Parish and the state lifting the COVID-19 mask mandate in 2021 and despite of a federal measure ending the public health emergency declaration for COVID-19 nationwide, the CDC will no longer be updating data for COVID's Community Level Map. This measure, being authorized by the CDC to collect public health data, was cleared in removing COVID-19 as a public health crisis on May 11, 2023. However, the CDC launched a new module where it will be used for the purpose to monitor hospital admissions per 100,000 in each county that the public can use for their convenience.

Additionally,

Please be cautious as COVID appears to still be going around. Here is the CDC COVID isolation guidance link:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/isolation.html?s_cid=11759:cdc%20covid%20guidelines:sem.ga:p:RG:GM:gen:PTN:FY22

Furthermore,

Please be courteous of others around you and follow the guidelines if you have COVID as well as any bacterial or viral infections. Check with our Health Department to see if they still have COVID test kits on hand. You can also request them through USPS https://special.usps.com/testkits to be delivered to your home.
