With Plaquemines Parish and the state lifting the COVID-19 mask mandate in 2021 and despite of a federal measure ending the public health emergency declaration for COVID-19 nationwide, the CDC will no longer be updating data for COVID's Community Level Map. This measure, being authorized by the CDC to collect public health data, was cleared in removing COVID-19 as a public health crisis onMay 11, 2023. However, the CDC launched a new module where it will be used for the purpose to monitor hospital admissions per 100,000 in each county that the public can use for their convenience.
