Establishment
Plaquemines Parish Community Action Agency is a public agency established by council resolution in October 1982. The Plaquemines Parish Commission Council designated itself to serve as the official provider of services to the low income, economically disadvantaged elderly and disabled residents of Plaquemines Parish. The targeted group has been provided with services such as:
- Crisis and Non-Crisis Energy Assistance
- Emergency Food Boxes
- Energy Client Education
- Public Transportation
- USDA Commodities
Mission Statement
Plaquemines Parish Community Action Agency strives to promote economic and social opportunities to the families and individuals by providing access to resources and opportunities that will strengthen and guide families into self-sufficiency.

Information & Referrals
Clients often come to our department with multiple and complex needs that cannot always be solved through our programs. In these instances, we provided information and referrals to other agencies including:

- Legal aid
- Local churches
- Local Health Department
- Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services
- Red Cross
- Social Concerns
- Social Security Administration
- Veterans Affairs
- Various parish departments
