PRESIDENT CORMIER APPOINTS NEW PLAQUEMINES PARISH HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS DIRECTOR
Plaquemines Parish, LA, February 24, 2015– Plaquemines Parish President Amos Cormier is proud to announce the official appointment of Patrick Harvey as Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. Mr. Harvey, a life-long resident of Plaquemines Parish served sixteen years with the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s office prior to joining the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness staff.
As the Deputy Director Mr. Harvey has become a Certified Louisiana Emergency Manager. He also serves as the chair of the Local Emergency Preparedness Committee (LEPC). Mr. Harvey is responsible for creating the WebEOC for Industry, which is a program that industry can sign up for and view important information during an emergency. Also, he is a FEMA Level 1 Professional Continuity Practitioner.
Director Harvey is a member of the following organizations: the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association (LEPA), National Emergency Notification Association (NENA), and Association of Public-Safety.
Mr. Harvey’s proven leadership ability, along with his wealth of knowledge in the field of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness makes him the most qualified individual for the position. Please join us in congratulating him on his new role with Plaquemines Parish Government.
